Sam and I have been waiting to do a shoot with her and her mom for awhile, actually since mothers day. Finally we picked out a day and it was absolutely beautiful! We headed down to depot town, in Ypsilanti! It was so much fun!

I love beautiful handmade things… shoes, clothes, hats, graphic design, and photography…
The clothing industry has always struggled with bad business ethics and brands that are know for humanitarian problems. When I learned about Tom’s shoes I began dreaming about owning a pair. I love his message and how passionate is he about making a difference. Buy one, buy five…
I’m in love with linocut stamps. I love the idea of delivery packages with stamps that I handmade. When starting the business I knew two things, I wanted to be as “green” as possible, and I wanted to be as “DIY” as I could. So, when looking for vendors to work with I searched for companies that offer green alternatives. I find that I get very inspired by magazine shoots, and blogs. When I found hearts of light blog I was completely entralled by all the beautiful imagery, and tasty recipes. The image below of the fork, knife and spoon was found on hearts of light.
I also find myself looking at hundreds of different banners. They are a perfect addition to a wedding (and they are only around $15). I could totally see one of these Earmark banners at any event. I love them!
The last image is from the super adorable and soon to be married team of Letterform. I purchased these beautifully handmade, letter-pressed foodie greeting cards at the Shadow Art Fair, in Ypsilanti and I found myself not able to give them up! You can buy them here!

I’ve been waiting awhile for a bride, or just someone to do one of these gems. What you ask? Well, a trash the dress, or rock the dress, or day after shoot. I love the idea, and would love to do it myself. Its a day to get all dressed up again and in a less stressful environment do a shoot. It’s a great way to do the things that wouldn’t have necessarily done on your wedding day, as well as, get some photos that you weren’t able to get. I believe that I’m going to be calling them day after shoots, even if it doesn’t fall exactly on the day after your wedding. Lets be honest, the last thing you want to do after your wedding is go out for a few hours and take more pictures.
At any rate, when Carolyn contacted me to do this shoot I was so honored. She knew that I hadn’t done one of these but was confident in my work. As a relatively new to the industry I cant stress how this makes me feel…
I loved her look, classic and very beautiful. Its actually hard to believe that she bought her dress on eBay without even trying it on, but she says that it was the best decision she made. She made her flower hairpiece, as well as her bracelet which were both a perfect compliment that completed her look.

These little bundles of joy are soooo adorable! This is my second time shooting Kayla and she seemed to feel even more comfortable in-front of my camera. Lucas was born a few months ago, and Melissa, their mom, had been trying to plan a shoot. Finally, we went to Greenmead Farm, in Livonia for a impromptu shoot because we both had the day off. Although it was extremely hot, and the humidity was enough to make anyone sweat.. we had a lot of fun!!
