I’m catching up on weddings! Lauren and Eddy had an awesome wedding at the Tollgate Farm last July. Mid-summer in Michigan can be unbearable at times, but the farm has tons of great landscaping and giant old trees that helped keep everyone cool. We love shooting here because you’re just a few minutes walk from a bunch of awesome settings. Plus horses, they have horses! Once the sun started to set, the dance party got started in the giant barn. Everything turned out wonderful!

honeymoon // portland

So a long long time ago… back in August, we got married! We will be blogging about our wedding soon, but first we are going to start with the honeymoon. You all know we love to travel. We decided before venturing out of the country again we wanted to see more of our own country. Neither of us have been to the pacific northwest, so it seemed  appropriate to start our adventure together out there. We spent the majority of our time in the city, and hit Powell’s Bookstore, Voodoo Dounuts, Pine State Biscuits, Hungry Tiger Too, and Pok Pok. We ate, we laughed, and we went on an mini-road trip out to Cannon Beach and up to Astoria. We cant wait to go back.

KEEP PORTLAND WEIRD

vegas

Vegas baby! We spent some time last month in Las Vegas for the annual WPPI conference. While casinos, glitz and glam aren’t exactly our scene, we had the pleasure of rooming, hanging, and dancing with Abbey Moore and Ashley Swartzendruber which made the time much more enjoyable. Luckily Abbey and Ashley had planned for a photo session out in the desert, so we left the city and went out to Red Rock Canyon about 20 minutes west of the strip. We had such a great time shooting the first day, we ended up going back again and shooting a second day around sunset. Here’s a little peek of the strip, fun times, and the desert sun.

natalie // 19 weeks

Did you hear? Natalie is pregnant! This is the first thing that has really made us feel like adults… sorta. I mean we will always be “us” but now we will just have a little one in tow. So what happens when you are a photographer and your best friend is pregnant? You head to the Matthaei Botanical Gardens and create a photo essay. This will be an emotional journey for me, but growing old with Natalie has always been something that I’ve looked forward to. I just cant wait to meet the little bundle of joy in August.

Congrats Nat!!! And it’s hilarious how Rinds is talking like the dad lol “we’ll always be us, just with a little one in tow” :-* big kisses to all of you!
